Our client within the Retail sector has a requirement for a Product Developer: Pet & Baby based in Western Cape.

POSITION:
Product Developer: Pet & Baby

LOCATION:
Western Cape

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate and implement product strategy into development plans for the relevant department
  • Drive and maintain a world-class sustainable product and packaging standard and framework
  • Inspire and influence the product teams and key stakeholders to deliver industry leadership positions
  • Amplify and embody an environment of creativity, growth, knowledge and empowerment
  • Drive, integrate, and own product development processes and supporting systems

Skills, key Competentcies Required:

  • BSc Consumer Science or Relevant degree/ diploma Requried
  • 3- 5 years + Pet & Baby product development Essential
  • A thorough understanding of Pet and Baby category and market essential
  • A superior eye for detail and product flair essential
  • Ability to interpret and drive innovation strategy across category
  • An innovative specialist that can work independently, who can assertively initiate, drive and execute new product development
  • Understanding of retail, foods & lifestyle trends and target market & range segmentation
  • Customer knowledge & understanding with strong planning and project management skills
  • Results driven, Innovative with continuous improvement mind-set
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proven commercial aptitude – ability to understand and use financial indicators
  • Ability to incorporate product strategy into supplier base
  • Proven ability to work with design team to ensure appropriate visual imagery is developed within the corporate brand
