A leading steel manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Engineer – GMR 2.1 Appointee to join their team
at their Vanderbijlpark operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the GMR 2.1 appointee ensuring legal compliance and safe operation of plant equipment.
• Lead SHERQ policy implementation and legal compliance strategies.
• Conduct serious incident investigations and ensure regulatory updates are implemented.
• Oversee GMR 2.7a appointees and ensure plant-level OHS Act compliance.
• Champion FPS Standards and statutory compliance reporting.
• Drive maintenance transformation and standardization across the site.
• Ensure legal requirements are embedded in SAP Maintenance and operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
• B-Eng Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• GCC Factories (Government Certificate of Competency).
• 4+ years in a maintenance environment within operations.
• 5+ years as a GMR 2.7a appointee or current GMR 2.1 appointee.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in SAP EAM and knowledge of OHSAS 18001, ISO14001, ISO9001.
