I can hardly believe it was 35 years ago when I started DAV as a one-woman show in Joubert Park. Growing gradually over the years into our present 170 staff complement, I vividly remember the enormous challenges of continuous improvement and adaptation which are essential in an environment as dynamic and fickle as recruitment. All the time we've given our utmost to maintain our high standards.

Over the last two months, this has reduced the time to deliver our shortlist of candidates to our clients by 50%.
How does DAV find candidates for you? Due to our reputation and the longstanding relationships we built over the years and continue building, 50% of the candidates we place are sourced through referrals. These are candidates nobody else sees or knows about, except the friend who referred them to us.
Our highly sophisticated database of 247 000 candidates gives you direct and immediate access to already selected and screened professionals. This database is meticulously maintained and updated on a daily basis.
The talent pool in South Africa includes only 30% of the population. Of this 30%, only 35% are active candidates, available to the market. Much more interesting is the remaining 65% who are passive candidates that can only be found through specific networking and search. Here head-hunting works. We are head-hunters - and we are really good at it! This is another reason why companies in many different industries use us.
Can't you find the right candidate yourself? Over 30 000 CV's are screened by us per month. Of these we interview about 1000 a month and place about 125 of them. I must say it surprises me every time I look at these huge numbers realising how many candidates we need to screen before we can pick the one – the right one. Our client companies cannot even begin to reach such a number of candidates and still focus on their core business. Only a specialist can dedicate enough time and resources to do this properly.

How deep do we drill? Very deep! All our consultants have been trained in the latest competency based recruitment techniques. All candidates will be interviewed following the same yardstick. The shortlist you receive will be the most appropriate candidates across both hard and soft skills, thereby saving you the time of interviewing unsuitable candidates. This shortlist will compare apples with apples, which will help you make informed decisions.
Claim back 137.5%. DAV is rated an "AA" - level 3 on the BEE Empowerdex, we are also classified as a value adding enterprise. This means that you can claim 137.5 % of your spend with us against your own BEE procurement scorecard.
